could be theres a heavy population of crayfish on that lake , could be water clarity , coould have something to do with spawning , could be genetic . there are many factors in fish coloration
Where did you catch it ?

I cleaned a mess of whitebass yesterday from OK and alot of the males fins were turned red. It may be due to having out of the water for awhile and then rehydrating.

Slight color variations will almost always happen. It's the same kind of fish as saltwater red drum which have red fins. Could also be from stress/dying like Kirby12 said. My sand bass have red marks all over them by the time they get cleaned.... None the less, it's a drum.

people are NEVER going to believe me on this one ...about coloration of fish back about 20 or more years ago i caught a crappie that instead of being greenish it was lilacish . back then it wasnt common to carry around cameras in everyday life ,so no pictures were taken but i swear it happened popcorn
