Hello everyone I need a little help. I am fairly new to Texas and haven't gotten to fish much but that's changing this year. Does anyone know of any good places to fish from the bank in the Irving area? Bass, crappie, sand bass and the like. All information will be greatly appreciated.

The Elm Fork of the Trinity River, the "clean" branch, is fed water and stocked with fish by Lakes Grapevine, Lewisville and Ray Roberts. It has an extensive stretch of fishable water, along the north Irving city limits. California Crossing dam, and the LB Houston nature preserve/green belts and nature trails are public access, and the river has some excellent fishing pretty much up and down that stretch of river. Bass, crappie, catfish of all species, sand bass, hybrid stripers, sunfish, carp buffalo, all major varieties of gar, drum and who knows what else all call the Elm Fork home,

Helmet lake, across the street from the Dr Pepper plant, surrounded by warehouses has excellent bass crappie and catfishing. Century circle drive.

Las Colinas has some great bank fishing. Campion trails along the Elm Fork on Riverside drive, once the flood recedes will be superb for catfish. There are several ponds in LC that are public accessible as well.

Good luck

Rudy

Thanks Rudy, thanks some very helpful information. I will get out there soon and let you guys know how I did. If I can just talk my wife into understanding how important it is for me to buy a boat I won't have this problem. smile

Just FYI, I tried to check out the lake on Century Center by the Dr. Pepper plant today and there's "Private Property-No Tresspassing" signs all around it.
