Can you bank fish at Lake Naconiche? Heard that is an awesome little lake just outside of Nacogdoches. I really want to make a trip with my kayak out to that lake someday!

When I was at SFA in the early '80s we used to go down to the Angelina River. Found some good spots to fish.

Fish at the Ag Pond and Banita will be small. Ag pond is mostly sunfish/brim/bluegill. Naconiche is a great lake to fish but I always fish from a boat. Seems like it would be difficult to bank fish there. I would say that Lake Nacogdoches or Angelina River will be your best bet. Angelina river can be junk fishing this time of year. Might catch a catfish or drum maybe the occasional sand bass. On Lake Nac I would say that with the water level up right now you have a good chance of catching some fish from the bank. I would try your favorite color Texas rigged creature like a lizard if the water is up on some grass that has been out of the water for a while. I have caught a lot of fish on Lake Nac with bubblegum pink fluke and wacky rigged worms. I might also try a sexy shad squarebill crankbait if you can keep it out of the weeds. When all else fails for me bank fishing I will through a weightless senko, pay attention on the fall, they cant resist the action on the way down. Good luck.
Always pray, and never lose heart. Luke 18:1
I am passionate about 2 things, bass fishing and bass fishing.
