So me and a buddy went out friday night to the park at california crossing and did a little bank fishing. Long story short, we forgot bug spray and where forced away by the massive amount of mosquitoes. However, we did stick around long enough to catch a decent amount of bait and set the rods for a bit, the current is running hard still but if there are a few spots where you can throw some bait into lighter current. Had a few hard hits before we left, I'm assuming it was gar or big blues.

What I have noticed lately is cars parked along the creek on the SouthWest corner of the George Bush and Belt line rd. theres been cars parked out in the field thats been flooded right up next to the water. Right where Hutton Branch and the Elm fork flow together. Does anyone know how the heck they are getting there? I can't figure it out, on the sattelite map it looks like you can get to that spot from the back of the Mattress Firm warehouse but I scouted that out this morning and did really see a path. I know you can go further south down to valwood and turn under the bridge but there was no bait in the water there so I'm assuming if theres any action it'll be where Hutton Branch and the Elm Fork flow together right there at belt line and PGBT.

I guess while I'm on topic of elm fork and such, has anyone had any luck fishing denton creek BELOW grapevine lake? Drove by off 2499 yesterday and it seemed to be flowing nicely, I've been curious if there's been any catfish action in there lately? I'm thinking the spawn should be getting close to being over and they should be biting again. Anyone know?

They are probably catching catfish. Earlier when the water was higher and the road to California Crossing was closed, guys were fishing right off the closed road in what was once a pasture and catching some beautiful blues and channels, mostly on punch bait. So that is probably what those guys at GB and Belt Line are getting. Water is fairly clear for it to be running so swiftly
