The old marina on Rowlett Rd close to Roan look mighty fishy. Look like a prime spot for spawning crappie. Looks can be deceiving so I was curious to know if anybody has ever caught anything around this place?

The crowds caught my attention so I went and scouted around. There are spots around there that look like they could hold some fish. I might give it a go and try it out. I won't know by sitting on the couch.

HeavyLead is right--it is a pretty popular spot, and it tends to have a lot of the trash and general messiness that comes with heavy fishing. I've gone out there a couple of times, with no luck. That was Fall though, and I've never fished it during the Spring. Seems like it might be a good spawning area. Either way, it sure does look fishy.
The charm of fishing is that it is the pursuit of what is elusive but attainable, a perpetual series of occasions for hope. --John Buchan

It used to be really good in the Spring, now it is hit or miss. I have caught a few, but since it is all grown up and trashed out I tend to stay away. Last year, I caught a fish and immediately had 7 guys right on top of me. Two of them got into it and almost went to blows, so I was out and never went back.

It still holds fish, you can park there and fish under the bridge on Rowlett Rd as well but as stated it's generally crowded
