My wife and I stopped by this park yesterday from 6:00 p.m. to about 7:30 p.m. She did some reading and I, of course, did a little fishing. I fished the first and second ponds with no luck.

I used a silver and black rattletrap on the second pond, casting away from the road. On the first pond, I used a watermelon senko and a white and red spinner bait casting towards the street and along the bank.

I am not a "skilled" fisherman, so the choice in lures may not have been the best. Anyone have any luck in this location (#120 on the Texas Fishing Map)? If so, what are your recommendations on the types of lures to use?

Thanks!

I'm just down the street and usually take my daughter to catch perch. Both ponds you fished today have bass. First, far side same direction wind was blowing. 2nd, under tree hanging over the edge on side closest to road. I've caught them on roadrunners, z-hog in junebug. The 3rd pond never fished for bass but seen nice size catfish caught. Hope this helps and Good luck!

I tried all 3 of those ponds one day last summer. T-rigged Senko and a square bill crank and got nothing.
It was during the day and not peak hours and I was probably fishing to fast as it was pretty hot that day.
I will try them again during peak hours one day.

the most western clear water pond at Nob Hill frustrates me to no end. We've caught 4 bass out of there...all on the same rainy day....and haven't been able to pull anything else out of there since. I caught mine on a top water frog and my wife caught her 3 on a zoom brush hog. We've seen BIG bass hit the top of the water, but cannot get them to hit our lines again. Each time I get skunked there I say I will never go back...but I'm sure I will try again soon. whip

I actually went to that same pond a couple of weeks ago to test out fishing the double fluke rig. Only went there because of the water clarity and it's close to my house. I ended up catches the one and only bass I've ever caught out of there. Small but surprising.

I have pretty much given up on this spot as well. It's not fun if you NEVER catch anything. I might as well be fishing in my bathtub. lol

My wife actually went to the western pond by herself saturday night and caught a couple right at sundown. A 1 1/2 lb and a 2 lb. she was using zoom frogs and letting them sink down. We might try again tonight.

I was there on Sunday night around 9pm. I fished at the pond right on McCoy & Crooked Creek. Didn't catch anything. I was using a senko. There was so much vegetation, I was kinda surprised I didn't get any hits.
