I went up there this past week to wet my line and the parks on both sides of the highway are fenced off. Looking online it says the land was sold. THAT SUCKS....

They're building a resort or apartments, or something. It is closed to Fishing permanently. It is now privately owned land.

Yeah the park was formerly owned by the City of Dallas. They sold it to City of Rowlett and it was re-zoned. North side became residential and will be sold to developers for SF homes, some MF homes. South side will be MF homes, hotel and small shop retail and restaurants.

Really disappointed in Rowlett city council. But tax dollars usually win over public use and park areas.

One word Incompetence and Stupid, oh that's two words. Lol

It's inevitable that Dallas would sell the small patches of Dalrocks it's been planted seed by developers for years. They didn't try to manage park for public good i.e. health, because the big money lobby put a choke on budget, so they neglected parks and let it deteriorate, trashes, etc. ..

It's stupid because dallas gets very little money in tax formula as part of the deal. What Dallas citizens lost is a down grade in the quality of life. But people would never know because city had never try to develop parks but just neglected it for years, so to the residents nears Dalrock was just an eye sore. But a water front park in densely populated areas can improve quality of life thus the value of homes in the areas and attract potential employers to the areas surrounding the park.

But hey since when we have any competent city government in Dallas?

Why do I go fishing? To catch a box of fish and/or some quality time under the sun. Thank Heaven I never fail fishing in Texas, catching box fish or plenty of sunburn.

So instead, Dallas has been coming up with plans for the last couple years to turn the Trinity River into bike trails, parks, etc. It's unbelievable. "Let's spend millions to build new places that we know will get flooded over, instead of a couple thousand to keep the old ones we have nice looking!"

Doubt it, it's private land now.

There is one ramp open now, and it will remain open as part of the deal.
