So, I've heard and seen pics of people doing well at Casino Beach at Lake Worth lately so I decided to try. My usual fishing spot, Benbrook Lake is all closed off so I needed a new spot. I stopped by the bait store near Lake Worth and the man working there said people had reported good catches on goldfish so I bought some, I now suspect he just chose his most expensive bait and sold it to me. :p

So, my buddy and I were there from 11am-3pm and didn't get a single bite. Not even a chance to miss a fish. We tried the gold fish whole and cut, with no results whatsoever.
Anybody with experience on Lake Worth have any suggestions? We were fishing off the pier there at Casino.

Have you tried under the 820 Bridge. I used to launch my boat from there back in the day and there were always people fishing at that location.
If you are wanting to fish for fishing sake and have a good chance of catching fish that you don't plan to eat, there are many areas on the Trinity River that may surprise you with catches of decent fish of a variety of species.
I do well at the Trinity each summer fishing for bass with easy access from your vehicle.

Yeah, I tried out there the next day after I posted this. No luck. Fished various spots at Casino and that one spot under 820 morning, noon, afternoon and late evening over several days and all we managed were a 1lb drum and two 1lb blues. Water needs to go down faster so I can get back out to Benbrook, at least there I never get skunked.

I fished at the boat ramp under the bridge casting towards the bridge with a shaky head and caught a few small bass.
