Anybody fish this stretch from the bank?

Worth investigating?

Thanks!

Every day coming in to work, I go by this stretch and have been eye balling a couple of downed trees for crappie. grin

crappie are there, but hard to come by. There is some deep water right by the bank behind the picnic tables on Campion Trail. The channel goes as deep as 30 ft, just a few ft. off the bank. I have tried some of those trees that you are talking about from a kayak, and had some promising bites on both jig and minnows, but did not catch. I am sure there are crappie in those trees, just haven't pulled them out yet. The cormorant stained trees hold some huge channel and blue cats, but those are more easily accessible in a kayak, canoe or fishkat.

Bank fishing all along elm fork between nw hwy and royal is good though, no doubt about that.

I have spent endless hours trying to find crappie in that stretch of river but I have only caught maybe 3. They are there as the ones I caught were pretty decent sized but they dont seem to act like the crappie on the lakes. Not to mention there is ALOT of cover in the river.

it is halfway between NW Hwy and Royal on Riverside. It has porta potties, a covered pavilion, picnic tables, and grills, and a small parking lot. River is right behind the picnic area.
