just got stationed in Wichita falls and besides arrowhead it isn't looking good. any help would be appreciated.

most people here think of DFW as north texas. you are dang near the north pole, texas wise. lol. sorry. maybe edit your post title ?

Use google maps to find spots close by. There are a few creeks and rivers flowing in and around the area, and the Red River isn't too far from you, should do you well. Ask people that you meet if they know of anyone that has property with water/pond that might allow you to fish (farmers markets especially). Ask employees of local tackle shops too.

Your area has had it rough the past several years. Worse drought than about anywhere in Texas. Most of the water you see now just got there a few months ago. The Red River is going to be your best bet.

Drive over to Texoma, a little more than 2 hours. It's still kinda screwy there I guess due to the flood. But it's one of my favorite lakes bar none. It's like the striper capital of the world. Has miles of shoreline for bankfishing and camping.
