Does anyone here fish for bass on this lake? I have been catching a few here and there on hard jerk-baits from the pier. I know there are some big ones in there. Any tips? You can PM me if it is secret information.

I went yesterday for a quick trip. I caught a few on a crankbait and suspending jerkbait. They seem to be very slow right now. They were in no mood to chase anything. I missed many because they would just mouth the bait. Maybe the water is still too cold?

I came up empty handed for my last 3 trips. But yes, the water is still pretty cold and actually the suspending jerkbaits are the best strategy. Weve had some sudden climate changes (i.e. the winter freezes weve had then sudden warmer than normal temps).

I caught 7 within 30 minutes last Saturday around noon. It was about 78F and overcast. They were being very aggressive until the sun came out.

I might try this weekend for some crappie. I've never caught one before or even attempted to.
I am going to pickup up some minnows from a nearby feed store and fish them deep with a slip cork.

I caught my first keeper bass on a soft-plastic for the year. (I have primarily been using hard swimbaits). I caught it using a texas-rigged Zoom 8" dead ringer in green pumpkin. It was fun on my ultra-light rig with 4lb test. I had a few larger fish look at my jerkbaits and crankbaits but they still seem to have lock-jaw.

Try weightless senko or use a 1/32 oz pegged about 12" above the hook, carolina style. Twitch it and let it fall and keep repeating.

I tried yesterday evening for about 30 minutes. No strikes and the bass that I did see weren't interested at all.

I haven't had a chance to go to this lake lately. Has anyone else had any luck?

I went yesterday to try for a little while. I only fished the floating dock without much luck. Too much pressure there on Sunday's. Someone caught a nice crappie and a few small bass on minnows.
I recognize the spot in your signature. I have only been there one time but I had good luck bumping crankbaits off the structure in the background.

Yea I live down the street from that place so I'm there every sunday. Good topwater action if you can get there early enough.

No luck yesterday in the cold. I did see thousands of fry swimming around.
