New to the forums but I have spent a week reading prior to joining. Live in Buda. I have not bank fished since I was little and my GF wants to try it. I usually go with Bro-N-Law Conroe Livingston and Trinity. Having read about a few spots but not sure exactly how to get to the water ways and to proper spots on the bank. Driving an hour or so is no big deal so anything from San Antonio to Round Rock would work. If there is a thread I missed it would be appreciated if you could link it. Or if you could direct me how to get to any spot you would recommend.

Thanks

Spec

welcome

The folks in the Bluegill/Sunfish section bank fish the Hill Country area pretty seriously. You might post a thread there. Lots of ponds, creeks, rivers and lakes to choose from in that area.

Thanks Moe. Rod I don't have a Kayak, may look into borrowing a friends since he rarely uses it.

There are plenty of LCRA parks around Lake Travis that you could bank fish.

Try the pond there in Bradfield subdivision. TPWD stock it. Also Lake Kyle in Kyle (off 150 on Lehman-TPWD stock it also)is bank fishing only & is catch/release only, has nice bass & channel cats.San Antonio has Calaveras, big reds & catfish. Canyon Lake has some public access along with Lake Travis (we plan on checking out Pace Bend now that its got water in it now).

Lady bird lake in Austin is a bank fisher's paradise. Excellent fishing!
