Does anyone know if it is open? I heard the property was sold, but was wondering if the new owners are letting people fish there.

it is not for public use.
I actually had the opportunity to fish it in march with a group of kids from the school I work at. I will say the bass fishing was ridiculous!

To my knowledge it hasnt been sold....the rains we have had has caused them to keep gate shut.....it is a pay to fish pond...was 5 bucks last fall....I am assuming you are talking about the pond on FM 875

the pond/lake in the camp part has solid fish in there up to 7lbs. The pond down on the southern end of the property is over populated with 12" fish.
You can go and catch 100 fish in a couple hours there though. The carp in the camp lake are huge. LIke 40-50lbs!

I googled Midlothian & FM875 and see two lakes/Ponds .Google label one as Hi-view lake ranch and the other as a soil conservation site. Am I in the right area?

I usually bass fish there, but I believe there are catfish also. There is a pretty good population of bluegill too. I did see a dead crappie floating once, but I have never caught one. I have not fished it in a long time. The only thing I don't like is that they close it whenever it rains. It was a good little lake, I hope the rumor that it was sold was false like the poster said above.
