Does my boat insurance cover my iPhone that bounced out of my boat on Thursday? My policy says personal belongings up to $5000 with a $100 deductible. A new iPhone 7 is around $800

Most boat policies cover boat related items for covered losses like anchors, bumpers, life vests etc but not other things like sunglasses, phones, fishing gear. . Things sudden and accidental like fire, collision, theft, storm, hitting submerged objects, etc. are covered. An item bouncing overboard would not be covered. There are inland marine policies that cover all risks that would cover the phone, not the boat policy. Hope this is helpful. Mark 38 year insurance agent
