you will think you are throwing money away until you have an accident or have someone have a freak fall an then see what happens there is too many folks out there looking for thier next person to take legal action against.

If you wish, you should be able to drop physical loss coverage on the hull/motor and just keep a personal injury/liability policy. This can help protect you if there is a collision/accident that results in legal action.

What he said. If you arnt concerned with the property damage. At least keep the liability insurance for your own personal sake.

Also raise your deductible to 1000! That should drop your insurance a few bucks.

One wrong stump to the lower unit and you will wish you had carried insurance. Besides, what if something happens to someone in your boat... Wouldn't you want coverage? Insurance is the smart thing to do

I paid my boat off and of course, kept the insurance. A year later found a stump at fork and did 6 thousand in damage to the hull. 325.00 for the year vs 6000.00 lump some? I think Ill keep on paying it!!!

I'll second it also. Complete coverage with WWM for my 2015 Seaark 1872 CC with agreed value is only $147 a year. Having that is a no brainer.

My 1987 Ranger 373V Bassmaster Classic was destroyed in a boat shed fire in 2004. Mine was one of two in the rental boat shed that had insurance. I got paid off, the other one with insurance got paid off, and the other 9 that were destroyed got zip, including the guy right next to me who had a brand new Champion. He paid cash for the boat, and had no insurance on it...Sad deal.

We live within a very litigious society. Its best to be safe than sorry.

Seems like a no brainer considering the value of your boat. Agreed upon value is the best way to go with boats.

Yeah don't forget most policies cover engine issues also, not just hull damage or theft.
Insurance is worth thousands if the right issue were to happen.
