Been off from fishing for about a year now had a lot going on. Getting back to it now, and completely forgot that I need some chum for my channel cat fishing! Is there anyone in the dfw area selling some?

Go up to the feed store and buy one 50lb bag of either wheat seed or a 50lb bag of milo.

Get 2 5 gallon buckets and put half grain then cover it 5" over top of grain. Grain will grow and fill up bucket. Give it 5-7 days and u are ready.

Or just buy a bag of range cubes from the feed store. $15 for a 50lb bag

^^^^^ this

I found if you use rain water or pond water it ripens a whole lot faster.

I haven't chummed for catfish before. Do you put it out the day before you fish or do you just put out it when you start fishing? Thanks for the advice.

You can put some out in a container the day or even a few days before so that it disperses the whole time instead of in a few hours, that will draw in cats to the area in general. You can use it day of and chum an area to help attract active fish already in the area and get them looking for food. That usually takes 30min to 1 hour.

I throw grain wheat/milo out in about four places then go back and fish them. I have done this buy a cheap laundry bag then put in some range cubes tie it under some cover for baiting a hole.
