Question for experienced catfish anglers.
If looking at a lakes contours, channels, rivers that run through them, structure, and depth on like Navionics as example if your fishing a new lake...what are some of the things you look for when picking a couple spots to try first?
God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” Genesis 1:28

Depends a lot on time of year and species of catfish, structure never seams to fail me on new water, weather it be deep or shallow. Wind blown points, timber, ledges, creek and river channels will all hold catfish, and more importantly bait. Pick a few places that fit into that list then go to them and look for signs of baitfish in the area. If you find some form of structure holding baitfish you will likely find catfish as well... Tight lines!
Catch and release into the grease!

I'm can't wait to start catfishing Guntersville and Wheeler this year.
He is truly a sick individual.
