Hello! My place of employment would like to have a company catfishing tournament. We are in San Marcos. I am reaching out to you seasoned catfish anglers to recommend a lake in the San Marcos area where the participants have a good chance of catching catfish. We have held the event on Lake Dunlap and Calaveras lake in the past. Any suggestions would be appreciated. We will probably have the event in March or April.

Yes, that would be out of range for this group. If it get's to pricey or is too much of a hassle we will lose participants. We like to keep it simple and not to expensive. We will have participants who don't normally fish with more experienced anglers. Just a company bonding thing.

If you use Calaveras, you guys will catch a lot of redfish but there are some catfish out there. Use a cast net to catch small perch for bait and you'll have the best luck. If they're using boats, tell them to go to the Crappie Wall.
