Found one of these on amazon.com for 60$. Most of the reviews say it's great but there are 5 or 6 that say it fell apart and is complete [censored]. Does anyone have one of these to verify? It is not the Swedish make unfortunately, it's Chinese. I don't want to get the pro rocket (Swedish) because its 80 more.

Like said above 6500s or 6000s fact. reconditioned or new.

and the problem isn't china, its that abu made a cheap design that could be made cheap in china...

They make a good throwline weight. The drag went south on the ones I had and the gears did not engage sometimes.

You can get used 6500C3's for $60 delivered from ebay if you don't get in a hurry and bid smart. Older 6500 or 6000's for $50 or less.

Ebay is a good source, but use the photos to your advantage. Look them over closely. A listing with out of focus pics indicates to me that the seller doesn't want you to see something. I picked up a 6500 for around $50 in excellent condition. The C3s are the go to reels for a lot of the North Texas big cat guys. The C4s are also good witht he only difference being they have one more bearing. I'm not sure the extra bearing is worth the additional price. FWIW, the new C3s and C4s have been upgraded to have an extra bearing so the new C3 is the same as the old C4. Look for made in Sweden and you won't go wrong.

The C4 are also a faster retrieve than the C3.
