Overlook boat ramp is open. Lake is still 3' above normal. Should be a great Labor Day weekend on the water.

On Friday I had Walter and his kiddos Isabell, Victoria, and Preston, from Cypress, out on Lake Somerville for the morning. The kids were not fishermen at the start of the trip, However, they learned how to cast, how to set the hook, how to guide a fish coming in to the boat. They also had a science lesson and learned what Bryozoan is in the water.

They ended the morning with 20 fish for a family fish fry that night. All fish caught under corks, using CJ's Wild Hopper bait, in 5-7 foot water.



Saturday morning I had Jerry and his sons Justin and Jarred, from Katy. The bite was very light with lots of missed fish, but those boys are very good fishermen.
They ended the morning with 38 cats for the cleaning table.
