I was at Fork this past weekend and have never seen the likes of the dead catfish. Does anyone have some idea as to what may be happening?

seen a bunch of them saturday at fork as well, over by the 515 bridge. most of them were small but there was a pretty good size one in between the bridge and the boat ramp off 17. i also had a first, caught a channel that had maggots coming out of its skin, nastiest thing i have ever seen fishing.
