Wanted to look at PK with all the new water and I was impressed. All my old fishing spots are in the middle of the lake now and not producing anything. The lake is VERY muddy since the Brazos is running strong (2 1/2 mph drift by GPS). I was trying to find some fish since my son is coming this weekend and wanting to go fishing. Fished 5 hours and didn't get a bite. Anyone have any idea where a person could find some fish? Looks like there is going to be a good shad hatch this year since I saw lots of small shad. Any help would be appreciated.....

Cats are in 2 to 4 feet of water up in the grass in most lakes.
I was catching them 18" deep under a cork up in the grass yesterday morning til about 10:30 am.
Muddier the water the better.

From Genesis: "And God promised men that good and obedient wives would be found in all corners of the earth."

Then He made the earth round...and He laughed and laughed and laughed!

I'd go up in the mouth of the brazos. Start in 5 ft and work your way in shallow until you find them. I'd expect bites in the first 15 mins if they are there. If no bites in 15-30mins move.

One thing I noticed yesterday while cleaning my catch was all but one channel were male fish. All of the blues were males. I wonder how far behind the big females are? The one channel that had eggs appeared to be about half developed.

muzzlebreak, if it had half developed eggs right now then those are being re-absorbed from not being able to spawn last year or the year before. All of them don't find mates or get rejected unless the males think they're suitable and usually all females under 15 lbs won't ever lay her eggs. Also it's the male of the catfish species that are the large ones. Mature male channelcat this time of year will be bluer than bluecat too ... if the channelcat is green then it's a female ... the smaller males 2 to 3 lbs might not be fully turned to blue like the mature males but their whiskers and around their mouth and fins will be blue. Once they get up to about 6 lbs then all male channelcat will be a new bluejean colored blue during the spawn. So if you're calling them males just because they don't have eggs in them they may have already layed their eggs and the egg sacks will be barely detectable.

Nope. I know a blue from a channel and also a male when I clean it from its milt organ.
I also know how to look at the anal fin and tell the difference. I been catching Blues and channels nigh on 60 years now.
