Went out to Grapevine to wet a few hooks. I was amazed at the amount of water. Sure hope someone who doesn't know this lake doesn't wreck out there. I have never seen it like this and I have been here since 1996. There are a dozen or so covered picnic tables underwater and a few more with just barely the roof showing, The shad were plentiful by the dam. Got one blue 13in. blue cat after fishing for close to 8 hours. Didn't travel too far to the north as the floating logs were all over the place. My boat is slipped at Scott's Landing there are only 2 rows of parking left, and the walk is pretty hairy as well. Here are a few pics.

Yep not pretty, I went to Murrell park this Monday to scope it out, You can get in on the Gravel High water ramp (Primitive) but I think I am heading to Katie Woods this weekend, and trolling up the Dam. Only have a Big Jon boat, so I will be taking it slow and easy. thanks for Pics..

Those floating logs were pretty bad on the northwest last time I was out as well. Not sure about now but the peanut butter water a few weeks back made it hard to see some of them. Pretty sure I'll not go that way for a while. Kids were asking about the beach from last year.............That ain't happening.

Thanks for sharing the pics.

That's what we got for telling him he didn't know what he was doing, lol. "Oh, you want some rain, do ya?"

I remember helping launch Piper's john boat in the bar ditch up on Dove Rd last time GV flooded. We tied off in the tree tops on top of the island. Tree tops were only about 3 feet out of the water.
I was living in GV the last time it went over the spillway and washed out the road below. The gully it created exposed some dinosaur bones. Well along came the Arky-ologists and and tree huggers and it took over two years before they would let them re-build the spillway and road while they excavated the fossils.

From Genesis: "And God promised men that good and obedient wives would be found in all corners of the earth."

Then He made the earth round...and He laughed and laughed and laughed!

I think I would stay away from Katie's Woods this weekend. Probably a 2+ hour wait to launch.

That's probably for the best. Hate for some people tubing or skiing to get close to the edge not knowing what's lurking mere inches the top of the water. When we were leaving our slip people were cutting across the left side of the break coming within feet of a STOP sign just barely poking up. Just we don't hear of any tragedies these next couple weeks.

Stop signs, pipe railings around parking lots, picnic tables, floaters (above and below water surface) will all wreak havoc on many boats over the next few weeks.
