Kayaked near Snake Island on Sunday. Waves were so big that I "surfed" them about for about a mile to a point and then paddled around the corner into the calm lee side. Cast punch bait back into the waves and wind that were blowing past the point, in about 8 ft of water. Well, that was the ticket. Caught 12 cats from 2 lb to 4 lb in 2 hours. Action was too hot to use more than one rod at a time! Sorry, no pics.

Well done, It was definitely windy out there at times. Tough in a kayak.
Do you know of any good areas to catch sunfish on Lake Somerville?

Hey J-Moe. We talked about this before. Probably the best area is in Yegua Creek and not the lake proper. You can try the shorelines lined with reeds in the lake, but I just haven't spent much time on it or had much luck. On the other hand, I have seen plenty sunfish in Yegua and caught some big ones fishing for whites in there.
