Just wondering if anyone has be out to the lake recently for catfish?

Blues are biting well on fresh cut shad in shallow grass.

I chatted with a guy that was bank fishing. He had caught two nice Blues . Said he was fishing with crawdads. I had drove over just to check the lake level. You can definately launch your boat now.

Well last Friday and Saturday didn't go the way I wanted. Spent most of the time around the Tira boat ramp area, a few nibbles but no real takers.
Tried to use a cast net on the shad but came up empty handed (first time using the new).

I'm going to try again in a couple of weeks, hope the bite improves.

Head to the west end of the lake. Fish shallow around grass or timber as Drawout said. The shad have been shallow and bite has been good. If you need some help when you get out there shoot me a pm I fish the lake nearly everyday.
