Gonna be taking a buddy to Hubbard creek next weekend (17-19th) and are gonna be fishing out of some kayaks. I was thinking maybe the channel cats would be up along the dam, and should be easy to catch? Also, would I be right to assume that shallow to mid depth flats should be holding roaming blue cats right now?
Anyone know where to catch shad in that area?

Post how you do, personally I have not caught channels this early on the rocks. I did get a reliable report that fishing wind blown banks near Rowlett was producing good stringers using worms.

There'll definitely be a report! I'm gonna go to Dallas Friday morning to buy a new Santa cruz raptor... it's gonna be great

Seems a little early for rip rap channels, but who knows with as low as Hubbard Creek is they don't have very many places they can go. I sure hate to see those west Tx lakes so low. I had some friends that lived in Breckenridge and Graham. Used to be a great lake for fishing but not sure now with the lake level.
Good luck, let me know how you do and take some pics. I have never seen that lake so low.
