Can I use a team catfish furry thing attached to a double action 8/0 circle hook instead of a brush lunker hooks for the Suki bait or does it have to be brush lunker hook ?

8/0 is way to big for punch bait and most channel cats. A lot of guys use an 8/0 for trophy sized blues in the winter and switch to a 6/0 in the summer for eater blues. Downsize your hook until its closer to the size of that sponge for channel cats. texas

MIGHT work, Id still downsize. Channel cats arent usually very big, a size 2 hook will usually suffice

I'll be fishing for blue catfish as well as channels and the lake I'll be fishing is lake tawakoni so I think I might stick to the 5/0 double action circle hook

I'd still suggest downsizing. I caught this big dude on a 3/0 hook because thats all I had on me at the time. And channel cats are gonna have a REALLY hard time getting the bait into their mouth with a hook that big, or at least most of the smaller ones that are going to be brought in by the punch bait.

Hopefully this is small enough because It's the smallest double action circle hook I have

Thatll prolly work but pull that sponge down on the hook so that the gap is more open. If your running multiple rods Id get rid of the sponge on all your poles except maybe 1 and use fresh cut bait on 6/0 hook or bigger. Twok has some monsters and they dont eat punch bait very often. texas

slide that furry thang over a treble hook your choice of size) then tie it on and punch it down in your favorite bait...its deadly rigged that way peep

If it ain't broke don't fix it...but go ahead and work on it anyway.....

Just buy a felt hat cleaning sponge and some treble hooks and you can make a butt load for cheap. That's what i do

I have watched the U Tubes on the Suki gizzard punch bait and they use a #2 or #4 treble pull out a gizzard cut it in 1/2 then hook the gizzard on and punch it in the bait. Seems like that would be good in current.
