Anyone know where to get fresh bait in the DFW area?
Such as cut bait, or "refrigerated" shad, or such like?

What part of the DFW are you interested? You can always go to Fiesta for Buffalo or an Asian market for just about anything else, including fresh gizzard shad.

On average, your heart beats 100,000 times a day. One day, one of those heartbeats will be your last. Then what?
The answer is found in Jesus Christ who said "I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly." John 10:10 ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

That all being said. Summer is the easiest time to catch bait. Just about every boat ramp at any time of day is pretty likely to have shad on it. I went to a spot I hadn't been to in 2 years the other day. One throw on a boat ramp netted me 20+ 6" shad.

Game Wardens around here just say keep your receipt for the extremely rare (paranoid)chance they bother asking you what bait you are using(never). Summer isn't the time to be worried about bait. Fresh is best and the freshest is still wiggling when you cut em. I keep my bait fresh by leaving it in the lake until I'm ready to fish.

Catch some sunfish and keep em alive...scale, chop and serve ...big ol gills are like sushi to bluecats and are easy to catch Yup! That's exactly what I do. I love bluegill fishing anyway. I usually fillet my bluegill and pack them in pickling salt.
