Fished a few hours yesterday afternoon in the heat and have the sun burn to prove it. Water temp 83 Had to back out to 25' to find shad and fish. Took 10 throws to get enough bait in 25ft, instead of my normal 1 and done in 15ft the last several weeks. Didn't mark a single fish until I got into 20+ ft and drifted up a few. Haven't had to fish that deep or drift since winter.

Looks like summer is here and I see some night fishing in my future. Ditching the shad and going with some of these cut and live.

On my lake 22ft is my sweet spot starting June 1. ..some days im up in 12-15ft on top of a hump and some days I'm out in 30ft on the contour but most days you can find them at 22 on any mid lake hump or point..I'm fishing under the sandies and you pretty much have to drift this pattern cause the cats are on the move. This pattern will hold up till the end of July.
