I'm putting out a trotline on Friday, have location, bait, etc. Question is because of time constraint, I'd like to walk it out as far as I can with the anchors and drop it in 5ft of water but would that be too shallow? I have a kayak and can use it but it will be pushing getting it done before dark if I use it and set in in 8-12ft of water. Are there still cats shallow or are there more numbers deeper?

Thanks,

Eric

are you leaving it overnight? A lot of times they come up shallow at night.
