I talked to COE this morning and they are trying to get Midway and Twin Bridges ramps open around the 19th. Only if no more big rains. Fingers crossed.

Thanks for the Update. I wish it wasn't going to be that long but it is what it is.

I spoke with lake manager. He is personally driving out today to inspect ramps. Unfortunately some ordinance from long ago says all asphalt coveted lots and turn around a that are submerged by water must "dry" for 14 days before public use. No way around that. When he was the lake manager on lavon was same thing he said. It's a corps thing. He told me the 21st at the earliest and twin bridges and speegleville would be first.

Gotta love those COE bureaucratic rules. The west side of Hwy 31 between Trinidad and Malakoff has been completely submerged 3 times in the last 3 months from back waters from flooding on the Trinity River. As soon as the water recedes off the asphalt, the west side is reopened to all traffic including 18 wheelers. And guess what, not a single ripple in the asphalt even with water within 6" of the roadway on both sides of the road. I traveled it once with only one west lane open with water on the other lane. Must be the 8th wonder of the world.
