Don't remember exactly if it's Big Water but I purchased a 12' Ugly Stick rod from BPS in Garland maybe 2 or 3 years ago... it had glow in the dark tip and felt not so stiff like other 12 footers... the first time out my wife landed a 25 lb blue cat,... within 10 minutes I had recast and set the rod in rod holder that I planted in about a foot of water... flat, shallow water had to wade out far to cast. .. ran out of line... anyway, as I was walking back to dry land I heard both my wife and son yelling and screaming at me... I turned around and saw that 12 foot bent over and the tip almost touching water... I ran as fast as I could but b4 I got there the rod sprung back and the line went limp. .. the second time I used rod was during a drizzle and using three poles catching eater blues at a boat ramp... it puzzled that the softer tips don't work well with circle hook... so I set it aside and had it leaned against the side of my suv... well it slide and fell on the boat ramp concrete and one on the eye rings broke... since I purchased it less than 30 days BPS refunded me in full...

Why do I go fishing? To catch a box of fish and/or some quality time under the sun. Thank Heaven I never fail fishing in Texas, catching box fish or plenty of sunburn.

I've ordered some of the spinning models for customers and they seemed to really like them. I've never used them myself though.

I love all my Ugly stick rods.
