I for years have fished Granger Lake for crappie and catfish. I'm going to Belton Lake this weekend for the 1st time in about 10 years I wanted to know if anyone has fished Belton recently I know its a heavy Hybrid bass lake any tips on live bait to slab spoons, also for cats the local bait shops I called said cats are hitting on summer sausage and bacon. Any tips for this lake would be appreciated.

Fish upper end by the dam for Hybrids.
I fish mainly for catfish on the north end by 36 bridge.
Cat fishing has been slow for me.You will be able to get shad around 36 bridge area.

Thanks for the help. Just got a nice boat for my 2 boys and I to start hitting these Texas lakes. I have been bank fishing for years never been on a boat out in Belton lake so any help is a blessing.

If you fish up around 36 bridge there is a lot of stumps under water and cement on both sides of the bridge.

Do you do good on Granger lake for catfish? That's a lot closer to me I live in Round Rock, do you have any tips there by the dam or in the flooded willows?

If your in rr save the drive and fish granger. Your chances of catching a monster are lower at Granger but it is a much better lake to load the boat with eaters.

Granger I did ok with channels by the flooded willows directly west of the dam on punch bait. I heard the dam north and south end are hot right now for cats in shallow water 4-10 ft.
