anyone ever tried for catfish at the atchafalaya riverbasin. anything biting? i will be fishing there next week. also how do y'all rig for catching them.

Well I just got back and we caught 7 catfish and 4 gar. We used cut shad and mullet caught in a castnet and carp. And rigged up a 4/0 j hook about a foot from the swivel with a free sliding 1/2 oz egg sinker. We fished in about 3 to 7 feet of water.
