Funny thing happened yesterday. With all the high water everywhere I went down to a local pond to fish from the bank.
I had my usual sure fire catfish bait and the guy next to me just down the bank was tearing them up, seemed like every few minutes he's reeling another cat in.
I walked over to see what all the rukkus was and asked what he was using.
"Hotdogs" "just cut them up, fry them till they are a little brown and put some garlic, anise oil, or whatever on them."
He told me to grab a few and I did!
Caught a cat, or had a strong bite on every piece he gave me.
I hadn't used hotdogs since I was a kid. Guess I need to go buy some!

Just one more cast!

Go with works...the garlic was probably the key...frying them probably helped keep them on the hook.

Been using them on Juglines for a couple of years, they definitely work. I have been just cutting them up & putting some garlic powder on them. Read on here last week about using minced garlic so I have some in the fridge now with powder and minced garlic. Not sure when I will get out on the lake but they will be ready when I do. Never heard of cooking them some.
