Headed to navarro mills Friday evening. Going to be camping at oak park. Just have my John boat and trolling motor. Anybody have any tips. Would love to catch a nice yellowcat but channels and blues are fine too.

Bass anglers should look for patches of pondweed along the north shoreline. Fish these with buzz baits or jig and eel combinations in the spring during the spawn. Catfish and crappie anglers will find live bait works best in the inundated timber in the upper end.

Largemouth Bass Good
Catfish Good
Crappie Excellent
White Bass Excellent
Sunfish yes Poor

The wife caught a 25 pound blue out there a month or so ago. Drifting shad across main lake. Also if you go to the upper end. The cormorants were still in the trees in front of the marina. Also, just a couple weeks ago, the shad were shallow early and late. Might be able to anchor on a flat just outside the creek channel going into oak park and find some there. Hope this helps
