LFA fishes a team competition once a month. All of our tournaments, on the other Thursdays daytime during the month are draw. Members are always fishing with someone new thereby getting the opportunity to learn many techniques, baits, and places. We are are not capped and are always looking for new members to join our other 50+ mostly seniors.

Each team counts their best 10 fish caught between them. Of course all of the fish caught are measured on a Chek it Stik, recorded and then released. No fish are retained unless someone were to catch a SAL which has never happened.

While members catch a fair share of Lake Fork overs, that is fish over 24", most of the bass are of normal size. For us everything 10" and over counts. Some days a little bass is what saves your day.
Everyone was anticipating the 100 degree day that was forecasted but as it turns out they missed again. And while it did eventually get hot the morning was quite pleasant. Winds were so light that there really was no top water bite either.

The fish that were caught today mainly came on plastics in the grass.

Dennis Bubinas and Bruce Allen were first with 25.08 LB on 10 bass anchored by Dennis' 5.8 lunker.
Bill Ailes and Tom Charlebois were second with 20.76 LB on 8 bass anchored Bill's lunker of the day at 6.77 lb.
Galen Smith and Gene Shoemaker were third with 14.34 on 5 bass anchored by Gene's 4.34 lb lunker
Don Overstreet and John Markos were fourth with 5.18 on 3 bass anchored by John's 2.49 Lb. lunker
Jack White and Charlie Arnold were fifth with 3.31 on 2 bass anchored by Jack's 2.12 lb. lunker.

To say it was slow for most would be an understatement with only 34 keepers being caught.

LFA Members must fish 8 regular tournaments during the year in order to qualify for the Team Championship, and the Major League Fishing Championship.
