The Ray Hubbard Bass Club had our sixth members only tournament of 2016 on Saturday July 9th on our home lake of Ray Hubbard. Typical summer heat greeted us but non typical heavy wind made things fun and interesting for all. We set a new RHBC record for turnout with 46 boats! Crazy for a July tournament. Fishing was Ray Hubbard normal which means tough for most but great for a few. When all was said and done Doug Rener and his guest Brett Killingsworth topped everyone with a stellar 5 fish limit of 21.23 pounds, No giants in this bunch, just a bunch of 4+ pound fish. We did have some big fish weighed in and Preston Smith and David Horton took home big fish honors with a 7.73 beast. Here are full results and pictures.

James and Shellye Crawford came out. Here's Shellye with their two for 3.43

James Weir and Patrick Sharp had two for 3.88

Tim Light and John Bruner had two for 4.24

Roddy Bieber and Dan Margules weighed two for 4.44

Average fish for the tournament was 2.80. David Mulkey and Robert Oleson show that with their two for 6.40.

If you're only going to weigh in one fish, this is the one. James Sharp shows off the bass that got second place big fish money. She weighed 7.33

Matthew Sprague and Cameron MacAnally weighed in four for 8.21

No matter the results, Matt Jackson always has a big smile for the camera. Him and Russell Olds had four for 8.31

Kenny and Kasey Bunch weighed a solid limit for 12.58.

The rough first out of the money spot went to Steve Tigert and Derek Sullivan who had a good limit of 13.31, anchored by a 4.81 big fish

Getting the 6th place check were Gary Lee and Dave Speakman with five for 13.39

Continuing their great season were Ronnie Manning and Capp Peace with a 5th place finish with 5 for 13.46

Finishing fourth with a good limit of five for 16.56 were Preston Smith and David Horton that included big bass of the tournament of 7.73

Here's Preston's lunker fish

Finishing in 3rd place were Justin Spoerl and Danny Wims with a great five fish limit for 17.07

Finishing second but with a little hard luck were Tommy and Tony Climer. They had an awesome bag of 20.03, but that was on only four fish. Their bag was anchored by a 6.20 big fish.

Here are your winners. Doug Rener and Brett Killingsworth are Ray Hubbard regulars and a threat to win any tournament they enter on this lake. They had a big five fish limit for 21.23 to take home the top prize. Congratulations guys!

Thanks to our TD's Kenny Bunch for always being there early for registration, Dale and Kelly for doing a great job weighing fish and Treasurer David Simmons for making sure the money is right! Our next tournament is Saturday August 13th on Lake Bob Sandlin. Hours are 5:30 - 2:00 and we are launching from the Titus County public ramp. See you there!
