The Lake Fork Anglers 3rd tournament of 2016 will be Thursday Feb 4th out of Oak Ridge Marina.

Registration starts at 7:00 AM at Oak Ridge. The tournament starts at 8:00 AM and runs until 4:00 PM. You have until 4:30 PM to bring your score sheets to be scored with payout and "the rest of the story" to follow.

Anglers may go out of any ramp they want too.

Results from January 21th:

If we thought that January 7 was bad today was a complete failure. It was lightning when registration started but fortunately that went away and left us with high winds, temps in the low 40's and rain. Perfect weather for a bunch of mostly senior citizens to be fishing in. Actually about 6 called in sick throughout the week.
But as usual some found fish and won the money. Mostly on C-Rigs and Jigs in deep water.

1st place went to Jerry Krone with 1 fish for 7.56 which was also the lunker of the day. .
2nd place went to Jim DeVore with 1 fish for 4.93.
3rd place went to John Markos with 1 fish for 3.02.

25 fished and five caught five fish total. My fingers still hurt. When we were coming in it was sleeting.

Boat seat drawings are held after the 2nd tournament each month for the following month. We changed the guidelines somewhat at the last meeting to cap the club at 40 members with a waiting list and to start a women's division. We also created separate categories for Boaters and co-anglers starting in 2016 each fishing for separate Angler of the year Awards. The top three in each will earn those awards.

And as we are now approaching our goal of 40 anglers we are really only looking for boaters right now. Members must fish with us at least 8 times in a given year to be able to renew to the next year. But if they really expect to fish for angler of the year they will have to do more like 18.

The LFA fishes every other Thursday daytime at Lake Fork only. Persons interested in joining or fishing as a guest should e-mail me at sjbasser@aol.com.

Here is your opportunity to fish with friendly knowledgeable Lake Fork anglers for the cost of a $5 annual dues and a $12 entry fee. Slot fish count. No teams.

Sometimes Fork is a big question mark. But even though we don't always slay them a few will figure it out and win the money. And then tell everyone attending the "weighin" how, what, and where. What you need to know to duplicate that feat.
