Thank you. It will take me a while to get the hang of it. The blending of overlapping
colors and spray control is taking some time.

Color selection is good...looks like Opaque colors. What are you using to thin your paints? I'm in the Rockwall area,too...PM me and we can share some thoughts on painting lures.

That top pic has a nice blend of subtle colors! Along with the appearance of glitter/flake? Should be a fish catcher!

Yes. I added a little glitter to the epoxy coat.

I used opaque, pealized, metallics, and thinned some a little depending on how light, heavy of a coat I am blending, with high performance reducer. I think I had 12 colors in the first BlueGill pattern., and some flake in the epoxy.

number 2 Splatterback, and 4 Shad Pattern catch fish. I put them in the water last evening.

i'll follow up on what bois was asking and you confirmed. the paints you mentioned are all "thick" paints that require a lot of diluting (reducing) to spray right and to be able to fade. they are good coverage paints but can be more difficult to spray in lighter coats. i would suggest getting a few transparent colors to use. the only time i use opaques is base coating and seldom use the metallics or pearls.
the folkart paints at walmart or hobby lobby work well and they're very inexpensive! cut them 50/50 with distilled water for the initial reduction and adjust as needed. i'll use illustration base, or a few more drops of distilled water, or a few drops of pledge floor care to reduce them more. you're looking for a consistency like skim milk. remember to heat set every coat!!
you need to realize that you're going to be applying several very very light coats to get the coverage and effect you're looking for. it took me a while to get comfortable with just how thin these paints need to be to have everything work right.
remember less is more in airbrushing. that will make sense as you paint more.
