thought i'd try my hand at painting a perch pattern. lots of layers. using three blanks, an old balsa po's that i sanded filled and sealed, a medium diver and a holographic medium diver. still have a bunch of work to do but so far so good. any and all advice is appreciated.

here are three that are complete. the one on the left was a plain blank and the other two were holographics. i masked off the gill plate and nose of the holographic ones for a different effect. the holographic pattern on the sides just shows through the color layers and comes and goes as the bait wobbles. d2t epoxy clear coat.

yep thats whats next. ive got them base coated and working on the stencil for the stripes now. getting ready to start the color layers.

Really nice work BC. I use a similar pattern on lakes I fish where I've found bream spawning areas. That pattern on the plain RT 1.5 & 2.5 blank would surely land some nice bass. I like your version and would not hesitate to fish it. Great pattern, well done. thumb

thanks bois. here's the last ones i did. better stripes and overall color. white belly, orange throat. pearl gold overspray. they're not any where as dark as the picture. i may even go lighter on the sides in the future.
