I paint these like I paint other things--just intuitively. "I want more green here, so put more green." It makes me wonder if I'll ever be able to reproduce results from one to another. Anyway, so we have pumpkin seed, bluegill, and green/orange craw. I'll add some more detailed shots later. My photography student brother is coming over tonight, and I will have him help me with some lighting.

A friend had a bunch of baits that rusted, and he gave them to me to play around with. He said he didn't care what I did, so I've been experimenting with patterns--tweaking some or completely new. So, we have a different blue gill pattern, shad, and yellow bass. I really like the color of the yellow bass, but it all went to hell when trying to freehand stripes. I think they will catch fish with crooked lines, but a yellow bass has pretty straight lines with an offset on the end of a few toward the tail.
