Three things going against Rob and I, no wind, high pressure, bluebird sky (just like to list excuses so I don't think the fish are smarter than me). Got on the water at 10, caught our first fish at 12, only had 8 by 2. We searched a lot of places, couldn't find more than 2-3 fish at any of them, checked structure, creeks, in and next to river channel, 30fow was were the shad were at. Finally at 2 the fish decided to group up a bit and bite (if you can call it that) in 31fow next to a bend in the river at the bluffs. Ended the day with 55 on the counter, 6 small striper, rest were sandies. Water temp started at 47 and got to 50 over by the bluffs later in the day.

Not often you see Whitney that glassy.

Fishing up here is tough right now with the shad kill. That sounds like a pretty good day.

Good fish and perseverance wins again. Along with being a good angler, knowing where not to look and using the correct lure.
