Anyone been down there lately? Have to make a quick weekend trip and will be somewhat in the neighborhood. Thought about throwing around behind the dam and possibly fishing the river a little bit on my way back home. Curious as to the bite right now.

Thanks! I'm not too far from there either.

The Brazos below PK is fished super hard. I have a house on the west side in the cliffs and cross the 16 bridge multiple times a week. There's always people fishing and on the weekends it's packed.

Waded down the Brazos with my brother Sunday from around noon to 5:30ish. I wanted to try out my new 5wt fly rod so I fished that while my brother threw a shaky head rig with his levelwind. I had a grasshopper with a woolybugger for a dropper. I think we caught 20-25 fish. He prob caught 3 or 4 more than I did. Caught mostly bass. I actually hooked 2 huge shad and a large perch. One bass that my brother brought in was a small mouth so that was pretty cool. I'd never caught one or even seen one in person. We didn't catch any sandbass or striper, but we also didn't spend any time right up behind the dam, just the river. We didn't catch anything of any size but we had a lot of fun! Water was crystal clear and it wasn't too terribly hot down there standing in waders.
