Looking to make a trip out to Whitney to go after a few stripers on Sunday. Been a couple years since I have been on Whitney. How has the bite been? Don't want to waste my time if they haven't been doing much. Also, where can I find shad early morning?

Should be able to catch shad in the cove on the north west side of katy bridge. There are a few stumps, but there is one sticking out of the water. If you stay clear of it you should be good. I have done very good on bait there recently.

Sunday was tough for me this last week. Caught 2 keepers on an Umbrella Rig.Trolled for hours with no bite. Easy to mark them, but they were lock jawed.
