Anyone been to Cooper this summer?

Thinking about trying it this weekend but can't find a mention of it on the forum?

Is it completely dead or is everyone on Twok?

Good luck. We have always had a good time there but I haven't been over there in about 2 years. Let us know how it goes.

Cooper weekend past:

Water slightly stained (surprising clean for Cooper)

Limited success with a handful of white bass (all clone 12" fish) no hybrids.

Fish are very scattered.

Did not stay for evening fish.....wind quit "completely" and we could not stay on the water in the heat.

Just keep looking next time out. They are far from scattered my customers have been limiting out in the first hour for the last couple of weeks. We have been catching close to 200 fish every trip and leaving them biting. Catching lots of 14 to 17 inch hybrids with one or two keepers most days. There's pictures and a few videos on my Facebook page Cooper Lake Trophy Catfishing.

Glad to see Coop is producing some action. It's a great lake when the conditions are right.

Did you find them on the mid lake humps or by the trees? The hybrids are the ones they stocked last year. They grow fast.

Here is the Hybrid stocking history for Cooper according to the TPWD website:

Bass, Palmetto 2017 1,890,261 Fry
Bass, Palmetto 2016 92,536 Fingerling

They have not stocked any Florida Black Bass in Cooper since 2010.
Here are a few pics of the type success you could have at Coop if you hit it right and get lucky:

The sandbass have been crazy catching some nice hybrids and doing well on the cats. If anyone is interested in a trip give me a call 903-348-6876.

I plan to give Cooper a try on Friday morning, if I can get my two boys out of bed. Are mornings or evenings producing better?

That's not what I wanted to hear, this heat is harder on me the older I get. I really wanted to hit it early and get off the lake before it gets really hot. At least you're catching a lot of fish.
