Went out Friday for 1/1/2 hours, only enough time to check out a couple of spots near the dam. Didn't see much except a brush pile in about 15 fow. So, I set up by it and cast around it to see what would bite my #4 silver Mepps. Caught a 22 inch hybrid, a 17 inch one, a couple of big white bass and a 14 inch LMB. Then things slowed, and I needed to get back in to go to the movies with sis and bro-in-law. So, I made one last cast right over the brush pile. I took up the slack and cranked the spinner a little faster to help avoid hanging up on the brush. I got a big hit and the line started moving up fast. So, I cranked it fast to keep the line tight as the big bass busted the surface. I held on and got it in reach of my net. It was a fat 24 inch LMB. Didn't have the de-liar with me. I had caught two 24 inch LMB's before and they each weighed 7 lb. This one was much fatter and I'd guess it go somewhere in the 8 to 10 lb range. Took some pics, let her go and headed in.

My shoe is size13

Wow!

Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach

Very nice LMB. A lot bigger than the one I caught Thursday on a slab.

Nice fish, Dennis. Got a #4 tied on my new Curado, may brave the cold weather tomorrow to try it out.
