I attempted sand bass fishing this morning. I am a little sad to think that I have always overlooked the huge mess out at the Neches River. I have been going out there since I was little kid. Luckily I wasn't catching fish so I found something else to do. I started to pick up all of the floating bottles along the river. Some of the spots I couldn't get to. I only hope that this post will allow you to see how one bottle can start adding up. I am not sure if I posted the below picture right, but it shows how much trash that I picked up within 30 minutes.

seems i heard the county closed a road on the north bosque for that very reason.

sad, people won't clean up after themselves.

Nice to see someone's trying to clean that place up, when the water is low you really see all the garbage that's been dumped there.

You did what most of us should do but dont, my self included. Sure I see it and at times will pick up stuff at the ramp areas, but I have never went to far. It has been a problem in this country for the 50 years I've been on this planet, (remember the old Indian commercials in the 60-70's)

Commendable work sir. I am in the service industry and notice without fail that the people that trash out the out of doors live within the same.Their homes and vehicles are as trashed out as their behavior outside of each.

I grew up in the neighborhood just up the hill from Rowlett Creek. I would fish everyday during the spawn. I went down there about five years ago and was disgusted with all the trash. It wasn't like that 30 years ago.

Good job Chad, I live on the lake and I'm beginning to think my little 65 ft o frontal property is a magnet for trash.

Someone told me that stuff flies out of boats a lot when traveling. I was wondering cuz at the lake house I went along the bank and filled 10 garbage bags to clean up when I bought the land and every time I go out 1-2 bags.

??? Man what that is a lot of garbage. I just throw the empty cans and bottles in my ice chest as to keep this from happening.

I almost always take a trash bag with me and leave the place cleaner than I found it. I especially hate the guys that leave lots of fishing line as trash. Visit LLELA sometime to see what I mean.
