I'm thinking bout taking my boat to one of these central Tx lakes, Belton, or Buchanan on saturday.
Does anyone have a recent report they would like to share for these bodies of water.

For recent info on belton or stillhouse check out Bob Maindelle's fishing reports. I went out with him last Friday on belton and caught a couple hundred whites (all released) when storm front stalled just north of the lake. I went to Belton Friday after school from 4:30-7:30. Wind was 10-20 from the south and the top water bite was speratic between Arrowhead and TLP. I had a line out targeting hybrid with cut shad in 30-40 fow but didnt get a bite. Around 6 when more boats came out the top water schools seemed to disappear. Im on a kayak with no sonar so maybe there was action across the lake.

I fished 8/18/2018 from Burnet county park, east toward Garret Island, south towards the dam.
Put the Xi3 in Anchor lock over each schoool I found, and dropped 3-4 medium sized live minnows bait rods to the depths I marked fish which seemed to be anywhere from 25-45 feet.
I got 1 believable bite. It was my first trip in my boat on that lake, but next time, I think I will hit belton as suggested.
