Repeat customers Brian, Joe, George, Mike, and new timer Wendy came out on The Mighty Red-Fin today.

It was a full boat, but it was real nice to have Mike do deck hand for me, he did a great job, thanks Mike!

We left out of beautiful Beacon Bay Marina at 7:20 and it didn't take long to find a nice school of white bass and they started boxing one out of about three.
Later that ratio would improve to nothing but big fish, then cycle through a school of small ones and then back to bigger fish. It was pretty much that way in both spots we fished today.

We made two stops basically and each one was about 23' FOW and we used DuckTracker slabs exclusively, in white 3/4 oz both Reapers and Lipper Rippers.
The white bass bit lightly today and did a lot of pushing the slab around without striking it. It took some skills to hook up at times even when the slab was getting smacked around.
Brian did get him a nice 22" striper. It made a hard run and put up a great fight.
They have been rare lately but the ones we catch are really mad about something.

The wind got pretty stout around 10:00 so we made our way across the lake to the west side to fish in a wind break. There they picked up another good bunch there and hit the 125 limit about 11:30.

It was getting hot and very windy about that time too so we rode the waves back to Beacon Bay. Where Trapperjon put the hurt on those fish a second time!

See you on the water.

Team shadslinger report 6-30 The DuckTracker strikes again!

Johnny and Little Mac took out new customers Joseph, and his kids Jackson and Madie. They hit it early out of beautiful Beacon Bay Marina at 6:00 am.
And they must have gotten right on them too.
Because we saw them when we were just starting out and we paused to speak.
They had a limit and were just cruising around, it was just after 8:00 am.

I hear from Johnny that the kids, Jackson and Madie, were fishing machines, and that the dad may have caught a few.
I bet it was wild fishing seeing how they caught their limit of 75 between 6:30 and 8:00!

They caught their fish on the amazing DuckTracker Slabs in assorted sizes, styles and colors in water about 17' to 29' FOW.
The look in the picture really shows what a good time those kids had and how proud their dad was of taking them out with the famous DuckTracker!

Can't go wrong there, he is having a great year putting folks on fish. And has had quite a few trips with young kids out for their first trip.
He put them on fish and caught the guiding bug doing so, nothing is as rewarding in guiding as showing the young ones how to fish and turn them loose with a mad white bass.

Jiggng with a slab for white bass is the perfect set up for a young person to explore the world of being able to do it all on their own when it comes to catching a fish. This is very important to kids, that they can do it all on their own.
In this style of fishing they can drop it over, find the bottom, learn the jigging motion and then know what a fish feels like and catch it with just a few instructions.
Just look at this letter from Maddie to Johnny, it's a real compliment.

Plenty of days for trips are open at Team shadslinger and the fishing is very good.

Trapperjon has been on fire as well and will be posting his back to back trips soon. He has been pretty busy

As Johnny the DuckTracker tells them;
Good fishing to all!
